Arsenal condemn antisemitism after chants prior to derby at Tottenham

Arsenal have condemned “any form of antisemitism”
after footage of people chanting abuse ahead of last Saturday’s North London
derby at the home of rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The footage, filmed by
another passenger and obtained by The Daily Mail, shows a group chanting antisemitic abuse.

Tottenham
are a club with strong Jewish roots, and Arsenal fans are normally escorted to
White Hart Lane by police escort due to the rivalry between the clubs.

Arsenal
are aware of the incident and released a statement on Wednesday condemning the
abuse that read: “We absolutely condemn any form of antisemitism at the
Club and we will work with the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police
to identify any culprits.

“We work hard as a
club to encourage diversity and inclusion through the Arsenal for Everyone programme and will continue to drive
forward this campaign to our supporters.”
