British Man convicted in relation to antisemitic incident

Rashal
Miah was convicted by a Snaresbrook Crown Court jury in connection with antisemitic
threats and verbal abuse.

On
Sept 29, 2014, Miah threatened and verbally abused an Orthodox Jewish man,
telling him to “shut the fuck up, you fucking Jew, I will slit your throat,”
referring to the man as “Yehudi.” Miah also declared that he would “kill all
the Jews.” The Orthodox victim was
driving a school van with young children on board at the time.

After
driving from Cranwich Road onto Dunsmure Road N16 in Stamford Hill, Hackney,
the victim noticed a black Mercedes driven by Miah heading in his direction.
Miah’s car was on the wrong side of the road, trying to overtake congested
traffic.

According
to Shomrim, the victim asked Mr Miah to reverse his car, due to the
accumulation of traffic. In response, Miah exited his car, and began
threatening and verbally abusing the Orthodox driver. Miah began unleashing a
torrent of verbal abuse, telling the driver to “shut the fuck up, you fucking
Jew, I will slit your throat,” and threatening to “kill all the Jews.”

Shomrim
assisted the victim throughout the lengthy judicial process, particularly with
the stressful experience of providing evidence in front of the Judge and jury
at Crown Court.

Miah’s
Sentencing is expected at a later date.
