Barysaw –
Local Newspaper ex-Press reports that in July 2015 vandals desecrated 19
gravestones in the Jewish cemetery in the city of Barysaw. Some of the gravestones cannot be
restored. The case on cemetery destruction was transferred to an inquiry
commission at borysowski area. The investigation continues.
Website Naviny.by says that since the early 2000s there were
no less than 4 vandalism incidents in Jewish cemeteries. However only in 2007 offenders
who destroyed gravestones were found and brought to
trial.
