Menton – Shalom Betito, the rabbi of Menton was punched
on the back and verbally abused by an Italian-speaking man. The perpetrator
remains at large.
By a sad coincidence, the rabbi was on his way to attend the ceremony
commemorating the anniversary of the Vel d’Hiv roundup of Jews on 16 and 17 July 1942, as well
as the remembrance of the victims of racist and antisemitic crimes and homage
to the Righteous of France.
