A former minister who stood as a centre-right presidential candidate in
2002 and is a leading opposer of same sex retweeted an antisemitic article.
Christine Boutin, today the honorary president of France’s Christian
Democrat party, retweeted the piece which related to the recent decision of the
US Supreme Court on gay marriage.
The article said that “100% of Jews approve of gay marriage” and that
Jews represented 60 percent of the judges voting yes on the measure on the
Supreme Court panel.
Boutin later deleted the tweet saying she was “neither a homophobe nor
an antisemite”.
