Two political parties in Germany are uniting in order to open a front against antisemitism.

Following the dramatic rise in the number of antisemitic attacks in Germany, the
CDU and CSU parties are uniting in order to open a common front against
anti-Semitism. “It cannot be that 70 years after liberation of the
concentration camps and fifty years after the renewal of Israeli-German
relations, the Jews and members of their families cannot feel safe in
Germany” said Franz Josef Jung, Deputy Minister of the Union. The congress
of the CDU/CSU factions also addressed the question of whether Jewish life in Germany was in
peril. Amongst the speakers was the German Interior Minister, Thomas de Maizière.
