2014 Antisemitism report in Hungary

The report on the survey of Hungary for 2014
demonstrated, amongst others, that in comparison to data from the previous year
the number of antiseimitic hate incidents have stagnated at an unfortunately
high level, since both in
terms of the number of cases and the weight of the cases registered, nearly
identical results were observed in 2013. In most of the cases, breaches of
provisions for the offences of public denial, calling into question, or
trivialization of the crimes of the National Socialist regime, and incitement
against a community were registered. The empirical results call for
significant tasks to be undertaken by both civil and government actors in the
field.

Research Institute conducted a comprehensive survey commissioned by Action and
Protection Foundation on the Hungarian society’s relation to the Jewish
population, including an examination of issues such as opinions and ideas

prejudice is; public perceptions of antisemitism; attitudes towards the social
engagement of Jewish organizations; the society’s awareness of conflicts
between the government and the Jewish community in the recent past. The
institute issued a questionnaire to 1,200 individuals.
