Puy-De-Dome – Antisemitic and racist messages
were scrawled on several walls in the city of Cournon during the early hours of Thursday
morning. The messages were directed against Jews and Muslims and included
threats. One of them was found written on the walls of a Muslim prayer hall and
was removed by municipal services.
The Mayor, Bertrand Pascuito, vehemently
denounced the acts in question which he attributed to right wing extremists.
“Inciting hatred after what has recently happened is disgusting”, he
said. Police in Cournon are currently investigating the incidents.
