2014 Antisemitism report in Austria

According to the Forum against Antisemitism, in
2014 the number antisemitic incidents doubled to 255 from 137 in 2013.

 


According to Oscar Deutsch, President of the Jewish Community in Austria (IKG),
the situation in Austria is
less critical than in France,
where 7,000 Jews have left the State due to anti-Semitic threats and murders.

He held a meeting yesterday with The Interior Minister Michael Leitner and the
Minister for Integration, Kurtz in order to discuss the security situation in
the country, strengthening the protection of Jewish schools and synagogues and
a heightened police presence in their vicinity.
