Jewish political candidates targeted, attacked

Paris – Jewish candidates in the upcoming municipal elections in
two Paris suburbs were targeted for vandalism and physical attack.

In Le Blanc-Mesnil posters of Laurent Benhaim and Edwin Legris were
vandalized with Jewish stars.

A day later Edwin Legris was attacked in his home by thugs wearing
‘police’ shirts and wielding baseball bats.
Legris, his wife and children were all seriously wounded.

The office of Sarah Benhamou, a candidate in Noisy-le-Sec, was
vandalized with antisemitic graffiti: swastikas, “Jew”, “big
whore” and sexually explicit graffiti.
Le Parisien reports that posters of the candidate elsewhere in town were
also defaced with swastikas.
