4 Suspects arrested for randomly assaulting Jews

Williamsburg, NY – Four people were just taken into custody in
Williamsburg, and are likely the group responsible for terrorizing local
residents the past two days. Sources tell YWN that on Tuesday afternoon, at
least two people were randomly assaulted, and anti-Jewish slurs used during the
assaults. One incident occurred on Hooper St and Marcy Ave, and another took
place on Heyward Street and Harrison Ave. The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit
investigated both assaults, and called them a hate crime. No perps were
apprehended.

 

On Wednesday morning, Williamsburg Shomrim receiving a phone call that
glass bottles were thrown at pedestrians at Marcy Avenue and Hooper St.
Anti-Jewish slurs were also used. The NYPD responded quickly, and with the
assistance of Shomrim, all four suspects were taken into police custody. They
were taken to the 90th Precinct, where they are awaiting detectives from the
Hate Crimes Unit.

 

Rabbi Abe Friedman, a community leader told YWN that he had nothing but
praise for the NYPD, who responded swiftly, and did not waste anytime in
declaring these crimes as hate crimes. He lauded Shomrim for assisting the NYPD
in making the arrests.
