Jewish man stabbed in antisemitic attack

Kiev – Jewish man was stabbed in the leg Friday night outside a
synagogue in Kiev in a antisemitic attack in the Ukrainian capital.

Dov Baar Glickman was attacked by three assailants, who knocked him to
the ground and stabbed him multiple times, Ynet reported. He managed to drag
himself to a nearby ritual bath and was taken from there to a hospital. He was
in good condition, Israel Radio reported.

The attack on Glickman was the second against Jews in Kiev in recent
days. A Hebrew teacher in Kiev was assaulted last Saturday. Four men ambushed
the Israel-born teacher, Hillel Wertheimer, at his apartment building after
following him home from synagogue services, according to Joseph Zissels,
chairman of the Vaad Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of
Ukraine and a vice president of the World Jewish Congress.

Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European
Rabbis, said tolerance of antisemitic statements by the Ukrainian government
and opposition gave antisemites free reign to attack Jews. He called on the
government to protect Ukrainian Jews and decisively quash antisemitism.
