A decline in antisemitism in high schools has taken place since 2004. However, one of every three teachers in the class had at one time to contend with antisemtism. This is the case according to a Panteia survey commissioned by the Anna Frank Foundation.
Most of the hatred for Jews is expressed in issues concerning soccer, which usually refer to the alleged Jewish identity of the Ajax team and the wide spread dislike for the club.
Students who hate Jews to a great extent are men and immigrants, in particular, the Turkish and Moroccan citizens in the country. In schools where these groups’ presence is significant, the number of incidents is larger as well.
The racism is manifest mainly in general comments about Jews. Attacks on Jewish students and teachers are rare.
