Unfinished Anglo HQ defaced with antisemitic graffiti

Dublin – The Anglo Irish Bank headquarters in Dublin’s docklands were defaced with antisemitic graffiti overnight.

The graffiti was discovered on the derelict building this morning and its owner, the Central Bank, said that it will remove the offensive messages as soon as possible.

It said it is investigating how security arrangements failed to prevent a break-in at the site and damage to the walls. A Garda spokesperson said that local gardaí are aware of the matter.

Pictures sent to TheJournal.ie show the walls on almost all levels of the derelict building are painted with antisemitic graffiti:

One of the messages reads: “Zionist engineered global financial holocaust”, another reads “Jewish supremacist destruction of indigenous Europeans” while another reads “Zionist global financial terrorism”.

In a statement, the Central Bank said: “Clearly graffiti has been put on the walls of the building. We will remove this as soon as possible. There are security arrangements in place at the site.

“We will now investigate how these failed to prevent this break in and damage,  and how they can be improved to mitigate this happening again. We have informed the Garda Siochána of the incident.”
