Comedian was fired after making antisemitic joke in TV show

Santiago – The comedian Elias Escobedo, who plays the character “Murdock”, would have been fired of Chilevisión(Channel) last Friday, after the great controversy that caused an antisemitic joke on “Make me laugh”(show).

 

The artist would have received the news, after the huge controversy surrounding his stellar performance in the private channel.

 

In space, led by Antonio Vodanović, “Murdock” said “What fault have the Jews to be better fuel than wood?”, which generated a number of complaints on behalf of human rights movements and Jewish organizations.

 

Previously, the director of “Make me laugh”(show), Cristian Canales, told Emol about the future of the character: “we are seeing what is done from now on.”

 

So far, Chilevisión(tv channel) did not confirm the news, but it got known by those close to the comedian, that this new is a fact.

 

The private channel said it will issue no further comment on the situation, after the statement they delivered last Wednesday.

 

It is noteworthy that the National Television Council (CNTV) received more than 125 complaints after this controversy routine.
