Long Beach synagogue vandalized

Long Beach, CA – Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect caught on video throwing a brick through a window at Temple Israel, the second act of vandalism in three months.

The upscale Belmont Heights synagogue was tagged with antisemitic graffiti on Nov. 12, a few weeks after reopening following a $4.6 million renovation.

Police Spokesman Sgt. Aaron Eaton said a man walked up to the front of Temple Israel, threw a brick at the front window, then ran.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, 20-30 years old, 5-feet-9 to 6-feet tall, 170-175 pounds, light color cargo or basketball type shorts, long-sleeved light color jacket with a dark collar, white t-shirt, dark color sandals or shower shoes.
