Nantes – “While her husband was at the synagogue, four men arrived at the apartment of a woman in her fifties. Their faces were covered with caps and they wore gloves on their hands. First, they bound the woman’s hands and legs with duct tape. They then searched her apartment.” A person close to the investigation announced that the assailants threatened to hurt her if she did not reveal where she hid her jewelry. The attackers also explained that they were waiting for the Rabbi to return home. But the woman’s husband is not a rabbi. “Eventually, the four burglars escaped, but not before they spilled a cleaning agent on the victim’s arms and legs, to erase any signs that could lead to their identification.”
To make matters worse, the media will not report this story. This refusal is evidence of a sick, despicable attitude that is reminiscent of a darker era. This is neither the first nor only attack of this sort. The authorities must take action.
