Kick It Out and the NUT (The National Union of Teachers) have launched a free educational downloadable resource designed to accompany The Y-Word, a short film addressing issues around anti-Jewish abuse in football. The film, produced by Ivor Baddiel and his brother David, was released last year and features Frank Lampard, Ledley King, Kieran Gibbs, Gary Lineker, Rachel Yankey and Zesh Rehman.
Entitled ‘Think Again! – classroom activities for challenging prejudice and fostering community cohesion’, the pack has been written by Berenice Miles, education consultant for Kick It Out and the NUT, and former Kick It Out campaigns manager, Alison Vaughan, and is for use in schools and other settings.
Christine Blower, NUT General Secretary, welcomed the launch of the pack, saying “this resource is a valuable addition to the range of tools that teachers can use to raise young people’s consciousness and encourage them to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination”.
The resource can be downloaded here.
