Antisemitism around the world: Surprisingly, the west has the highest rate of violence against Jews

According to an Israeli study, the United States, Canada, France and England are among the countries with the highest number of violence cases against Jews.

In contrast with the regimes in the Middle East, which are accused of nurturing hatred against Israel throughout the generations, such as Iran of the Ayatollahs, whose president, Mahmud Ahmadinejad is willing to wipe the Jewish state off the map, according to this study, the democratic western countries, are surprisingly the ones, primarily France and England, which registered the highest numbers of attacks, assaults and cases of antisemitic violence, during the period between 2001 and 2010.

Even in the absence of proven data concerning Middle Eastern countries or other non-democratic regimes, such as China, the statistics concerning antisemitic attacks in western countries are still worrying. The preparation of the map was carried out by cross checking Jewish European Council data with data of the Tel Aviv University Stephen Roth Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism and Racism. The Grey color in the map indicates lacking data or the absence of violence cases against Jews. On the other hand, the darker colors serve as maximum level indicators. Protovis was used in order to suitably display the data.  In order to display the data of a country, move the mouse cursor over that country and click the link on the original map
