Young Jewish man shot with B.B gun

Lyon – the BNVCA reports the information which the local police have verified for JSSNNews. On Thursday, April 5, shortly before 9:00 AM, a young Jewish man wearing a yarmulke became a victim of a violent assault.

The assault was carried out with a firearm on Gabriel Péri Street in Villeurbanne at the outskirts of the city of Lyon. Villeurbanne is known for its sensitive neighborhoods and several preachers there spread extremist Islam. However, as of now, it cannot be said who is responsible for this assault and if the murder attempt had an antisSemitic background.

The BNVCA submitted information according to which “the victim, a 35-year-old merchant, was wounded in the thigh.” Therefore it does not seem to be a life threatening situation. But according to the organization for the struggle against antisemitism, “the anticipated rise in antisemitic violent acts worries us very much despite the measures that have been taken, because we notice that there is nothing that stops the daring, the arrogance and the aggressiveness of all the fans of the man responsible for the murder of the Jews in Toulouse. We are asking the police to do everything possible in order to locate and arrest the perpetrators of this serious act. We ask the mayors and the police forces to see to it that the entrances and exits to prayers during the Passover holiday be painstakingly guarded.”
