Ed Miliband lookalike death threat tweeter arrested

Man who allegedly posted antisemitic and threatening messages on Twitter directed at women has been arrested.

Professional Ed Miliband lookalike Shereef Abdallah was arrested today “on suspicion of sending by communication network an offensive or abusive or obscene message”.

Mr Abdallah, who had his Labour Party membership suspended after the allegations of cyber stalking came to light, has been bailed until later next month.

The former volunteer for Labour MP Glenda Jackson allegedly wrote messages such as “racist tory anti Islamic scum” and “your nightmare is just starting… it will only get worse for you every day 24/7 till you leave twitter”.

He also allegedly sent threats to “hunt” his targets down and “end” them.

His targets on the social networking site are said to include a woman who ran a website supporting liberal intervention in the Middle East and a former Labour Party press officer who came to her defence. He also sent messages to a British-Israeli woman who challenged him on his use of the word “Nazi” to describe those he disagreed with.

The Metropolitan Police said that a man in his late 30s had been arrested in relation to “several threatening messages” received by a 32-year-old woman.
