In an interview with CNN Saturday night, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan again attacked Israel, minimizing Israeli casualties from Arab rocket attacks. Speaking of the over ten thousand rockets and missiles that have been fired from Gaza at Israel over the past six years, Erdogan asked “how many Israelis have been killed from these rockets? 100? 200? We know that on the other side hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been killed.”
Erdogan also derided what he called Israel’s “obsession” with the Holocaust, accusing it of using the events of World War II to paint Israel as a victim. Erdogan in the interview again demanded that Israel apologize for the deaths of nine Hamas-affiliated activists on the Mavi Marmara last year, and provide compensation for the families.
