Costumers physically attacked restaurant owner and had used Antisemitic verbal abuse

Berlin – Guests at Prenzlaur Berg refused to pay their bill and attacked the owner.

 

At around 1 past midnight, the cook and his assistant had rang the Wichertstrabe police station. The officers arrived on the scene and arrested two men, ages 30 and 33. The two men had attacked the 60 year old owner and hit him on his head, back and upper body. According to testimony, the man who had refused to pay his bill had verbally attacked the owner by using Antisemitic exclamations.

 

According to his testimony, the man defended himself against the 30 year old attacker and caused him an injury above his eye.

 

During the man’s arrest, a 61 year old man who was a costumer as well, had approached the officers and began yelling at them. He did not listen to the officers’ request to leave the place. He resisted arrest and as a result had suffered a head injury. The man is now charged with insulting an officer on duty.

 

The officers had filed charges against the two restaurant costumers based on severe physical injury, insulting an officer and anti-Semitism incitement.

 

Once treated, the three were released from the hospital.
