Imprisonment and suspended prison terms ruled against the operators of an antisemitic internet radio

Koblenz – Imprisonment and suspended prison terms were ruled by the Koblenz court against the operators of an extreme right wing internet radio, for incitement and setting-up of a criminal organization charges. According to the court, all 18 defendants, who worked in the “Resistance Radio” (“Widerstand-Radio”) in management and broadcasting positions, praised Nazism and threatened to kill Jews, foreigners and other “heretics”.

 

The court accepted the state attorney’s requests and imposed a suspended prison terms of one year and nine months and imprisonment periods of three years and three months. In some cases, the court’s ruling also referred to prior offenses of the defendants.

 

The court’s ruling included also charges of distributing propaganda and incitement to criminal acts. The court alleviated the defendants’ penalties because they admitted to their acts and significantly shortened the legal process.

 

The radio station was established on May 2009 and continued broadcasting until November 2010. The 18 defendants were arrested during a raid of the police criminal departments of various states. Most of the investigations were held in Rheinland-Pfalz and in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
