Jewish Religious seminary vandalized

Under cover of the snow, unknown persons broke into the seminary in Eaton Town, New Jersey, created havoc and vandalized the Holy Ark and a Torah Scroll that was inside.

The head of the seminary, Rabbi Sender Kaszirer discovered the vandalism when he arrived at the seminary after an absence of a week because of the heavy snow.

Rabbi Kaszirer told “Hadrey Haredim”: “I arrived at the premises on Friday before lunchtime and immediately upon my arrival I noticed that there was something wrong, the door had been forced open. My heart starting beating wildly, I went to the seminary and saw that the Holy Ark was open and that a Torah scroll had been placed on the table, exposed without the coat that usually covers it, and without any of the other things. I approached and noticed that graffiti had been scrawled on the table. I called the Police immediately.

Detectives following the footsteps left in the snow, led to the apprehension by the Police of a 16 year old youth who was suspected of having perpetrated the act.

Rabbi Kaszirer who seemed agitated added “I must say that this is the first time that this has happened to us, this Town is a quiet town. The seminary in Eatontown is a seminary and a small rabbinical college for boys of an age group and the head of the college who lives in Lakewood worships in it”.
