violent incidents, May 2010 (5 incidents)


02/05/2010

A Rabbi was attacked by a gang of 4 youths. He was with his sons who had gone into a shop in London to buy a drink. They were followed by the perpetrators, the victim followed to make sure they were ok. The perpetrators pushed the victim and punched his son. They then walked off.  The victim called the police and followed the perpetrators to see where they had gone in order to advise the police. The perpetrators saw him and then attacked him further. He was pushed to the ground and kicked.           

He received injuries to his head and had to have stitches in his ear.

 

 06/05/2010          

The victim was visibly Jewish and was walking in Golders Green, London when he was assaulted by 3 men of Eastern European appearance.

As he walked past the perpetrators one of them made a fist and attempted to punch the victim in the head, however was unsuccessful.

A man was arrested following daubing antisemitic graffiti on a campaign poster for a local Member of Parliament in Leeds, W Yorks.

 

25/05/2010

In Fallowfield, Manchester,            the victim was approached by 2 Asian teenagers who asked if the victim was Jewish. The victim replied that he was.      

One of the 2 then said that he hates Jews. The victim was pushed in his back and he was pushed to the ground.

 

29/05/2010

The reporter witnessed a vehicle driving through an area highly populated with Jews in Salford.

The occupant was throwing coins and shouting antisemitic abuse towards Jewish pedestrians. It is not reported exactly what was said.
