An article was published in the 24th April 2002 edition of the daily Johmhuri Al-Islami believed to express Khamenei’s views according to which a British physician claims that he has seen Jews eating blood with their meals. In reaction to the article the Jewish community in Iran sent a letter protesting the publication of the blood libel. The newspaper published the letter, also expressing its satisfaction that the Jews of Iran do not engage in these ceremonies since they have become integrated into Iranian society.
