Maryland Jewish Community Contributes Funds for The Protection of a Synagogue in Russia
The members of the “Beth-El” Community in Montgomery County, Maryland have raised $7,500 for use in the protection of a synagogue in the Russian city of Kostroma. The sum will cover the costs of an alarm system and part of a fence to surround the synagogue’s property. In the past year, the synagogue has suffered from acts of vandalism including arson, physical damage and robbery.
