A District Court in Prague approved the verdict that convicted Michal Zitko, the publisher of the Czech translation of Hitler’s Mein Kampf. In November 2001, the court found Zitko guilty of supporting and promoting the movement whose aim is to repress civil rights and liberties. The court sentenced him to a fine of two million kuruny (about 55,000 dollars). Should Zitko fail to pay the fine, he faces one year in prison. The book was translated in January 2000, and was published in 106,000 copies. 93,000 copies were sold, and the rest were confiscated by the police.
