On 5 December 2001 the Chief Rabbi of Brussels was attacked at a Metro station in Anderlecht by a group of Maghreb looking youth. They shouted “Dirty Jew “ in Arabic at the Rabbi and attacked him physically – they spat at him and kicked him in the face.
