On 10 October, 2001, some time around noon, during the Simhat Torah services in the Great Synagogue in Copenhagen, three Arab youths cursed Jewish youths near the synagogue, calling out such epithets as “fucking Jews” and “Jew pig”. The Arab youths were subsequently joined by other Arabs and it is apparent that the gang wanted to arouse a physical confrontation. Since the provocation did not work, they left the place.
