On 8 October, 2001, the editor of the EBRESZTO newspaper, run by a faction of the extreme right wing organization “MIEP”, was interrogated at the offices of the General Prosecutor in connection with incitement against the Jewish community. This questioning is part of an investigation with the accusation that the newspaper had published an antisemitic article signed by the Vice President of the Miep Party, Hegedu. The authorities will be able to interrogate Hegedu, himself, only if his parliamentary immunity is revoked.
