Greece – Dedication of a Monument to Holocaust Victims in Rhodes

On 22nd June 2002, a monument to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust in Rhodes was unveiled in the presence of representatives of the Government and Parliament in Athens. When World War II broke out, the Jewish community in Rhodes numbered about 5,000. Most of them were sent to the extermination camps and only 170 survived.
