In an article published in the Zimbabwe Sunday Mail, the journalist Samu Zulu claimed that the colonialist Cecil Rhodes (for whom Rhodesia, Zimbabwe’s former name, was named) was a Jew who “like other Jews in Israel, the United States, South Africa and even Zimbabwe, became a merciless oppressor desiring wealth and unchallenged power”. He even called Rhodes insulting names. There is no truth to the claim that Rhodes was Jewish.
