Some time around noon on 12th August 2002, a Jew was stabbed near the café in Helsinki of which he is a part owner. Three Arabs who passed by the café shouted threats. When the Jewish man asked them why they were doing this, the three attacked him and one of them stabbed him in the neck with a knife and injured him. The three were arrested by the police and taken in for questioning.
