Estonia – Decision to Mark Holocaust Day

On 7th August 2002, the Estonian Government decided to set 27th January as Holocaust Memorial Day. Prime Minister Kallas said that the decision had been reached after considerable discussion. The Ministry of Education has decided that this is to be a memorial day for incidents of genocide as well a day devoted to all violations of human rights and other basic freedoms.
