On 20th September 2002, on the eve of the Festival of Sukkot, an emissary of a solidarity organization with Israel in Belgium, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi in Brussels and one other person who was a worshipper in the synagogue, were attacked with curses and stones. They were attacked by a group of youths of North African origin as they were walking from the synagogue to the Rabbi’s home in Brussels.
