On Friday evening, 21st June 2002, as a group of worshippers was walking from the synagogue to the center of town, the occupants of a passing car shouted “Hizballah, Palestine, Intifadeh, Allah hu akbar” and the like. The passengers of another passing car shouted antisemitic slogans and made crude gestures.
