On 30th October 2002, after a week-long trial, the Spokesman of the “Hizb al-Tahrir” Organization in Denmark, Fadi Abd al-Latif, who had been brought to trial for disseminating the organization’s pamphlets all over Copenhagen in April 2002, calling for the murder of Jews wherever they are, was convicted of racism and sentenced to 60 days probation. Abd al-Latif accused the Jews and Israel of being responsible for the anti-Muslim feelings in Denmark and for the sentence he had received. He quickly appealed the sentence before the Danish Supreme Court. The General Prosecutor has reserved his decision on whether to outlaw the organization until after the appeal.
