Egypt –Sheikh of “Al-Azhar”on the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”

On 19th November 2002, the Sheikh of “Al-Azhar”, Muhammad Tantawi published an antisemtic article in the Establishment Islamic Weekly Aqidathi (of the Al-Gumhorriya Group). In this article, Tantawi refers to the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” as an authentic document, and to his book called “The Children of Israel, the Koran and the Burning Bush”.
In this book Tantawi deals with the manner in which the Jews view themselves as the “Chosen People”, whose intention is to rule other peoples, whose religion is the only true religion. The Jewish Sages, according to Tantawi, adopted a number of decisions whose objective is to do harm to other peoples with the aim of promoting their own interests and controling the Human Race. Tantawi claims that these decisions are known as the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”. He also mentioned the Zionist Congresses (from 1897-1951) in which the Jews formulated a plan to crown the king of the world, a descendant of the House of David. The “Protocols” were brought to Russia where they caused a wave of pogroms. Tantawi quotes from the “Protocols”, claiming that they reveal the intentions of the Jews vis-à-vis the world, the manner in which they intend exploiting the weak sides of human nature and toppling governments all over the world.
