On 7th October 2002, an envelope containing white powder was received at the building of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) in Boston. The authorities arrived immediately and instructed the workers in the mail room to wash their hands. Laboratory test showed that the envelope contained an innocuous powder.
