France – Attack on a Jewish Woman Student in Aix-en-Provence

On 11 March 2003, the film Decryptage was screened followed by a discussion on the film. After the screening a large number of pro-Palestinians remained in the hall. A young Jewish woman student, active in the Students’ Organization, entered into a serious argument with the protesters. Several hours later, as she was returning to her home in Aix-en-Provence after having spent time with friends, she was attacked by three masked men who beat her up and carved a Star of David on her arm. She was taken to the hospital and later made a complaint to the police. Her attackers were apparently of Arab origin.
