As part of the ongoing dispute between Malaysia and Singapore concerning the sovereignty over an island, an editorial appeared in the Malaysian daily Berita Harian accusing Singapore of falsifying facts and of disrespectful behavior towards Malaysia in which anti-Israel and antisemitic remarks were made. Here are some examples: “Singapore’s behavior does not befit good neighborly relations. This is a mirror image of the Jewish policy of stealing lands from the Palestinians, repressing [the Palestinians] and still feeling threatened by other Arab states”. “This Jewish type of behavior is not surprising considering the close relations between the Republic of Singapore and Israel”.
