On 9th May 2003, two men attacked a 70 year-old rabbi who was on his way home from synagogue. The incident occurred not far from a pub in Melbourne. The attackers, aged between 20 and 30, hit the rabbi in the face, knocked him down and shouted antisemitic epithets at him. The rabbi suffered injuries to his face.
