Australia – Firecracker Shot into Canberra’s Jewish Community Center

At 9:30 a.m on 29th June 2003, an explosion was heard just as parents were bringing their children to Sunday School in the Jewish Community Center in Canberra. A member of the community went out to see what had happened and saw two youths aged about 17-20 years old standing in the courtyard about five meters from the Community Center building. Smoke was rising from the place where they stood. The firecracker did not hit the building and no damage was caused. The police who arrived to investigate the incident found a pit that had been dug from which the firecracker had been fired.
