On 17th October 2003, an eleventh-grade pupil at the Guillaume Bude High School in Paris was attacked. He was thrown to the ground and beaten by seven other pupils. Curses such as “I hope you die, dirty little Jew”! were voiced. The victim was hospitalized with a broken collar bone. A complaint was registered with the police, and the pupils who had beaten up the youth were called in for police questioning and owned up to the act. A disciplinary council suspended the boys from school for eight days. This same pupil also received an antisemitic e-mail message several days later, and another complaint was made.
