The Jews in Belarus have accused cossacks and the leaders of the Russian Orthodox Church of incitement to antisemitism, and have demanded that the Prosecutor General mount a criminal investigation against them. In October 2003, antisemitic publications and newspapers were handed out at a cossack convention in Minsk. The organizers of the convention claimed that the Leader of the Russian Orthodox Church had given his blessing to the convention and that the publications had been supplied by a Church bookstore.
