Belgium – Attack on Two Orthodox Jewish Youths in Antwerp

On 7^th September 2004, two Jewish youths, brothers, were walking along the street in the section of Antwerp where they live when they were suddenly assaulted by an 18-year-old thug of North Africa origin, apparently also a resident of the same neighborhood. He pulled up on his bicycle in front of the brothers and asked them if they had a “problem”. After the two did not respond, the bicycler attacked them for no good reason. While one of the brothers managed to escape, the second suffered injuries to his right ear and upper lip. The attacker then fled on his bicycle.
