Belgium – Dismissal from a Public Residence in Brussels Because of an Antisemitic Letter


On 14th April 2004, the Administrative Council of a Public Residence (Maison D’accueil) in Brussels decided to expel one of the people living there because he had sent a letter containing antisemitic remarks. The letter did not reach its destination because the postman erased the antisemitic expressions on the envelope and turned it over to the Residence Administrator.
