Belgium – Attack on an Orthodox Jew in Antwerp


On 1st July 2004, when an Orthodox Jewish man about 43 years old came out of the synagogue in Briamontlei, Antwerp, he was accosted from behind by an unidentified thug who knocked him down and kicked him. The victim lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital. When he woke up in the hospital, he was unable to identify his attacker. An investigation of the incident revealed that his attacker was from the Caucasus.
